Founded by Benjamin Henry Blackwell in 1879, in a space measuring just twelve feet square, Blackwell has grown substantially to become the UK's largest academic and professional bookseller. We now have 80 Blackwell's shops throughout the UK and nine Heffers shops in Cambridge. We've also been delivering books world-wide for over a hundred years through Blackwell's Extra, the international mail order service.

Blackwell Online was established in 1995. Its aim is to deliver a bookshop which integrates all the features and functionality users have come to expect of an Internet bookseller, along with the professional service and traditional expertise Blackwell's customers across the globe associate with our name.
